Distilled on the Orkney Islands at the Scapa distillery, established in 1885, this single malt offers a unique character shaped by its history and innovative still design. Originally famed for its unpeated style, Scapa now presents a gently smoky expression achieved through finishing in peated casks – a subtle entry point for those exploring peated whiskies. The distillery’s unusual Lomond still, modified to mimic pot still distillation with added reflux, contributes to a spirit known for its oily texture and balanced complexity. Bottled in August 2016 at 40% ABV, this whisky delivers a lightly sweet and inviting taste of the Orkney Islands.
