About this whisky
- Region:
Bailie Nicol Jarvie is a distinguished blend born in 19th-century Glasgow, originally crafted by wine merchant Nicol Anderson and later nurtured by Macdonald & Muir – now Glenmorangie. Named for a character in Walter Scott’s *Rob Roy*, this whisky boasts an unusually high malt content, drawing from just eight carefully selected single malts across the Highlands, Islay, and Speyside – including Glenmorangie and Glen Moray – alongside grain whisky from Girvan. Matured for a minimum of six years, it presents a characterful profile of 60% single malt and 40% grain, offering a complexity rarely found in blended Scotch. Though discontinued in 2014, Bailie Nicol Jarvie remains a sought-after expression of classic Scottish blending.
