Bunnahabhain 2005 Burgundy Finish

From the remote northeast coast of Islay, this Bunnahabhain was distilled in 2005 and matured to reveal a unique character through finishing in Burgundy wine casks. Originally built in 1881 with a vision for island distilling, Bunnahabhain traditionally produces a lighter style of malt, enhanced by the sweetness imparted from sherry cask aging—a tradition now beautifully complemented by this wine finish. Bottled in 2020 at 60.7% ABV, this expression offers a rich and complex taste profile, hinting at the distillery’s history while showcasing the influence of the Burgundy cask. This is a limited edition bottling, one of only 600 produced.
