Released in 2014 as the fifth highly anticipated installment in Glenmorangie’s award-winning Private Edition series, Companta (Scots Gaelic for "companionship") is a masterclass in wood finishing.

Crafted by Dr. Bill Lumsden, this non-chill filtered single malt was initially matured in traditional American white oak ex-bourbon casks before undergoing an extra-maturation process in a selection of exceptional wine casks. It features a unique marriage of ultra-premium Grand Cru Burgundy casks from Clos de Tart and fortified sweet wine casks from the Côtes du Rhône. The result is a beautifully complex dram boasting deep notes of rich milk chocolate, autumn berries, damp wood, toasted nuts, and a subtle, warming hint of spice.
