Distilled in the heart of Wales at the Penderyn Distillery, nestled in the Brecon Beacons foothills, this single malt represents a revival of Welsh whisky-making tradition – the first in over a century. Crafted with local barley and pristine spring water, Penderyn Madeira Finish begins its maturation in ex-Bourbon barrels before a finishing period in rich Madeira casks. This dual maturation imparts a unique character, offering notes of dried fruit, honey, and subtle spice alongside the whisky’s inherent sweetness. Bottled at 46% ABV, it delivers a smooth, golden spirit reflective of Wales’ own ‘Aur Cymru’ – Welsh Gold.
