Redbreast 30 Year Old Dream Cask (50cl, 56.9%)

To mark World Whisky day on Saturday the 21st of May, Midleton Distillery released the fifth bottle in the Dream Cask series, the ’30 year old Dream Cask’. The marriage of two unique casks is what makes this whisky so wondrous. The first chosen by master blender Billy Leighton is a first fill Oloroso sherry butt, filled in May 1990, and the selected second cask by blender Dave McCabe is a first fill ex-Bourbon barrel filled in November 1991. Earthy tones of antique furniture, dried herbs, black cherries and oak are expected to greet you upon opening one of these bottles the palate is warm with spices at first with coffee, liquorice, orange peel and smoked almonds with a long finish of autumn fruits, spice and oak.
