Williamson’s 2012 Christmas Edition is a unique single malt born from a fascinating blending practice. Originally matured in a hogshead previously holding Laphroaig spirit, this whisky received a subtle ‘teaspoon’ of another carefully selected malt to allow for the Williamson designation. Bottled in 2021 after nine years of maturation, it presents a robust 60.9% ABV and delivers a complex character hinting at coastal smoke alongside richer, underlying flavours. This limited edition – one of only 322 bottles – offers a glimpse into the innovative spirit of Berry Bros & Rudd, London’s oldest wine and spirit merchant, and their history of sourcing exceptional casks.
